Chinese Shrimp Wonton Soup
In a clear broth, this Chinese Shrimp Wonton Soup has juicy shrimp and pork dumplings that make you feel good. Its light but filling, and its great for a cozy meal any day of the week.
Ingredients:
- 250g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 150g ground pork
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1 pack wonton wrappers
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups bok choy, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine shrimp, ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and white pepper
Mix well
Place a spoonful of filling onto each wonton wrapper
Wet the edges with water and fold diagonally to seal, forming a triangle
Bring the two corners together and press to seal
In a pot, bring chicken broth and water to a boil
Add wontons and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through
Add bok choy to the soup and cook for another 2 minutes
Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions
